The basics
What is mosaic tile printing?
When people search for mosaic tile printing, they usually mean one of two different things, and it's worth knowing which one you need. Traditional mosaic is made of tiny individual chips, called tesserae, hand-set piece by piece into a picture. What we produce is a multi-tile printed mural: one large image is divided across a grid of standard-size ceramic or porcelain tiles, each tile is hand screen-printed and kiln-fired on its own, and the full set is installed together so the complete picture only comes together once every tile is in place on the wall or floor.
The result reads as one large image from a normal viewing distance, with the grout lines running through it as part of the design, similar to how a stained-glass window uses its leading. If you specifically need traditional hand-set tesserae mosaic (very small glass or ceramic chips), that's a different craft from what we do; ask us and we can point you in the right direction.

Ceramic and porcelain mosaic vs. glass mosaic.
We produce mosaic murals in ceramic and porcelain, hand screen-printed and kiln-fired the same way as our other tile work. Glass mosaic is a different material and production process entirely (fused glass tesserae rather than a printed ceramic surface), and it's common in fully submerged pool tiling where installers want a glossy, light-reflective finish underwater. If your project is a submerged pool floor specifically, ask us and we'll be upfront about whether ceramic or porcelain is the right fit or whether you'd be better served by a glass mosaic specialist. For pool surrounds, deck walls, and any mosaic mural above the waterline, our ceramic and porcelain process works well and is more affordable than glass.
